Flatland’s Unlimited 5 (FU5) 2009

March 13,14 and 15th Canada’s Flatlands Unlimited 5 took place in downtown Toronto. As usual the venue for this event was at the Direct Energy Centre during the Toronto Bicycle Show and the Toronto BMX Jam. Atmosphere was great and attendance was very good with 27 Expert riders and 8 Pro’s battling it out!
All riders had 2 final runs, Expert class was divided in 4 groups with 10 riders in the finals. The ever so funny and very talented Percy Marshall took home 1st place and A Bad Thing frame! Folling him in second was Montreal’s powerhouse Jean-William Prevost aka DUB, his riding has really improved since being stationed in China. Another Canadian boy in the top 3 with Adam Pergentile taking third, great run awesome tricks.
A pre event party was held at The Social friday night by Black Pony BMX, bunch of experts showed up along with Pro’s Mathias Dandois and Dane Beardsley. Good time was had by all, the highlight of the night was seeing Percy escorted out by 2 security guards! Percy was just being him self, it was great.
